Imagine having a fully restored smile in just one day. Thanks to our implant-supported denture method many patients can! Similar to All-on-4® we use the DIEM method providing immediate full-arch rehabilitation for patients who are missing all or most of their natural teeth.
Our innovative process utilizes advanced technology such as CAT scans and guided surgical procedures to optimize successful and predictable outcomes. We utilize the DIEM method with Zimmer Biomet, an American based company and world leader in dental technology.
If you are suffering the consequences of having gaps in your smile from missing teeth or you have struggled with wearing dentures, we encourage you to read on and learn more about how our implant supported denture method can improve your quality of life.
Who is a Candidate for Immediate Full-Arch Rehabilitation?
Anyone who is missing all or most of their natural teeth in one or both arches may benefit from immediate rehabilitation with dental implants. The implants we use are specially designed to be placed in areas that have reduced bone density, which is common when teeth have been missing for an extended period of time. For this reason they are an excellent solution for people who have worn dentures or fixed bridges for a while. However, the only way to find out if you are a good candidate for same day implant-supported dentures is to schedule a consultation with one of our implant dentists.
What is the DIEM Method?
Like All-on-4, the DIEM method allows us to use a handful of dental implants to secure a full denture in just one day. In most cases, just four implants are necessary. We use tapered implants from Zimmer Biomet Dental, featuring a special design that can be successfully placed in areas of the mouth that wouldn’t normally support an implant. And thanks to the special thread design, healing and osseointegration are also enhanced.
Benefits of the DIEM Method
Same day implant supported dentures using the DIEM method have many benefits over traditional dentures, including:
- Immediate Improvement in Quality of Life and Confidence – Same day implant dentures allow you to walk out of your appointment with a fully restored smile, so you can immediately speak, chew, and smile with confidence.
- Reduced Treatment Time and Minimized Cost – Since your implants are placed in one day — instead of several appointments over several months which is necessary for traditional implant-supported dentures — your total treatment time is reduced. In many cases, using the DIEM method also reduces the overall cost of getting dental implants.
- Renewed Comfort, Convenience, and Security – Having the denture attached to implants means that they won’t slip around when talking and chewing. They also eliminate the pain points that can happen with conventional dentures as they pinch and rub against the gums.
- Maintained Oral Health – The jawbone depends on the constant stimulation of tooth roots to maintain density. When a tooth is missing, bone begins to diminish in the area. But because implants are placed in the jawbone they help maintain bone density for a healthier mouth.
What to Expect from the Treatment Process
Similar to traditional dental implants, the same day implant denture process begins with a consultation with one of our dentists. He will speak with you about your goals for treatment and answer any questions you may have. He will also perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and jawbone so a comprehensive plan can be developed. This treatment plan may involve the collaboration with other local dental specialists, such as oral surgeons so that you receive the best possible care.
The implants are placed in a surgical procedure while you are under general anesthesia. Your existing denture or a temporary denture is attached to your implants the same day so you can enjoy the benefits immediately. Once your mouth is allowed to fully heal, which typically takes a few months, you will return to have your smile transformation attached.
